Karath is tan and white, a little on the thin side, of late 20's, perhaps early 30's or so in age. He comes originally from Scitheria, a cold island nation of temperate rainforests, snowy volcanic peaks and icy tundra, far to the North. Formerly the Minister of Niceties, Karath was once considered a paragon by some and an irritating thorn in the side of others. With a troubled past and often wandering mind, he generally wants to do whats best for others, but doesn't always succeed. He has been absent from the Imperium for years, and has grown to resent its imperialism and the state of Vulpinsula in general in his time as a wayfarer.

Karath was long the first mate of the Blackship, where he struggled with the feeling of responsibility towards the lives of so many others, performing his duty admirably nontheless despite hiccups. After a time as Captain of said ship, as troubles grew within Bully Harbor, he left his position in the Navy to focus on matters ashore. There, he worked constantly, often to the point of exhaustion and mental breakdown, frequently acquiring injuries in his tireless struggle to protect those dear to him and defeat those who, in his view, would do harm to the beasts of Bully Harbor. Karath, though beasts who don't know him closely wouldn't often realize it, has often been one who is "just barely keeping it together," so to speak.

He spent a brief time as the Minister of Misanthropy under Nadia Darkon's close "supervision," as he was at this point a puppet Minister, to keep Misanthropy under control. When he proved too much of an idealist for this position, he was transferred to Niceties, where he tried for a time to reorganize the Unsmudgables into the Dusk Watch to create a new force to keep Bully Harbor "safe" from the machinations of Misanthropy and threats like the Verfolger. He didn't linger in this position long, as the ever-growing sense of futility with Bully Harbor's situation wore him down. Finally he reached a breaking point, raiding some of Niceties stores and leaving Vulpinsula for many years, spending time as a navigator aboard a trading ship.

Now, he has returned and wishes to rebuild Niceties, and the city itself, perhaps the entire land into something new, something lead by its beasts and not power-mad ministers, well aware it may lead to his own destruction. He finds himself haunted by many ghosts out of the past these days, from the days of Maelstrom and the Winter War, but is doing his best to forge ahead.
